About ME

I am a mostly retired optometrist. The only good thing from COVID was finding Forged in Fire! My wife surprised me with the basics to start making knives and the story continues.

I was raised in Garden City, KS. I went to Kansas State University and then to University of Houston - College of Optometry. 

My wife and I moved to the low county in 2018.

The Flying H Knives is paying credit to my roots. My material grandparents had the Flying M Ranch in southwest Kansas. I developed my logo from their cattle brand.
